Community Outreach

Our Community Outreach Program opens doors for youth and families in Kansas City by providing meaningful experiences, support and joy. From cultural outings to holiday toy drives, we’re creating moments that build connection, confidence and community pride.

We believe that meaningful community development starts with investing in people, especially our youth. Our Community Outreach Program is dedicated to creating opportunities that inspire, uplift and connect families in Kansas City and the Metropolitan area.

We focus on providing enriching experiences for children from under-resourced neighborhoods. Through our outreach efforts, kids have the chance to explore the world beyond their everyday surroundings. Whether it’s a trip to the zoo, a day at the ballpark, a theatre performance at Starlight, or holiday celebrations at Santa’s Wonderland, we make it possible for them to enjoy the simple joys of childhood, moments that spark imagination, build confidence and create lasting memories.

Our team also partners with families year-round to offer support through seasonal events, school supply drives and toy giveaways that bring relief and joy to those who need it most. These programs aren’t just about fun but they’re about connection, care and creating a sense of community pride.

By meeting families where they are and walking alongside them, we aim to strengthen the social fabric of our neighborhoods, one experience at a time.

Help us make an impact. Whether you choose to volunteer, donate, or partner with us, your support helps bring joy and opportunity to the families we serve.

Santa’s Wonderland

Bringing Holiday Magic to Kansas City Families

Santa’s Wonderland is one of Twelfth Street Heritage’s most cherished traditions, spreading joy and generosity throughout the Kansas City community for nearly three decades. Each year, we transform the season into something magical for thousands of local children and their families—complete with toys, bikes, holiday characters, and a visit from Santa himself.

With the support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers, we’ve raised over $350,000 and reached more than 24,000 families since the event began. From Frosty the Snowman to Santa’s Elves, our Winter Wonderland is filled with the spirit of giving and the warmth of community.

Whether you’re looking to donate, volunteer, or attend, Santa’s Wonderland is more than an event.
