One of the nation's first Black-owned housing cooperatives, Parade Park is undergoing a major revitalization to restore pride, stability, and opportunity to the heart of the East Side. We are working alongside residents to create a thriving, sustainable community.
Benard Villas
Benard Homes is a senior living community providing safe, comfortable and affordable housing for older adults in Kansas City. Designed with accessibility and peace of mind in mind, Benard offers a supportive environment where residents can enjoy independence, connection, and a strong sense of community.

Twelfth Street Heritage Development Corporation is a Kansas City-based nonprofit revitalizing communities with our partners through affordable housing and people-first programs. From re-entry support and youth mentorship to inclusive hiring and property development, our mission is rooted in equity and opportunity. We believe true neighborhood growth happens when every person is empowered to thrive because we’re not just developing property, we’re developing people and sculpting our community.
Re-entry & Prevention Program
The Prison to Workforce Pipeline is changing lives and uplifting neighborhoods. This program supports individuals who have recently been released from prison or those in need of a second chance at employment. Through weekly workshops that build discipline, work ethic, and personal growth, participants gain the tools they need to succeed in the workforce.
In partnership with the City of Kansas City, participants maintain over 850 properties each month, gaining valuable job experience while helping beautify our neighborhoods. This is more than job training—it is a chance to restore dignity, build confidence, and create lasting change.

For nearly 30 years, Twelfth Street Heritage has brought holiday magic to Kansas City families through our annual Santa’s Wonderland event. With over $350,000 raised and more than 24,000 families reached, this beloved tradition lights up the season with joy, gifts and unforgettable moments. From toys and bikes to visits with Santa and his cheerful crew, we’re proud to make the holidays brighter for children across the metro.
